As a creative, I love little gadgets and gizmos that can be used for journaling, scrapbooking, arts & crafts, and for studying.
I love embellishing my writing notebooks with stickers to add a bit more fun to my craft as a professional writer.
The internet microcosm containing the journaling & studying community has been taken by storm by this little Phomemo sticker printer. The printer is especially going viral on TikTok.
It requires no ink as it uses thermal heat transfer technology to print the image on to the paper.
The Phomemo sticker printer only prints in black & white and requires paper cartridges after you run out. It charges with a type C cable and connects to your phone via bluetooth.
The mini printer comes with a correlating app that allows you to go through your phone gallery and select photos to print, or select photos to first collage and then print.
The photos print in a small sticker size. The paper size is perfect for notebooks, scrapbooks, and can even be used as labels for items.
One of the reasons this mini printer went viral is because it gave students the opportunity to print out stickers of complex diagrams to stick in to their notes. No more drawing complex anatomy by hand. Print it from your phone and stick it into your notes!
I tried out the Phomemo sticker printer on my scrapbook. I selected a few photos and seamlessly printed them.
The picture resolution is not great. I'd highly recommend printing photos that are minimal and have less detail. The more detailed the photos is, the more grainy and blended the printed sticker looks. The sticker sheets themselves are very good quality and adhere nicely to paper.
It is still a fun little printer. As long as your pictures and designs are simple, they will look good. I would recommend line art type designs.
This sticker printer is roughly 40$ on Amazon. You can find it for cheaper on other sites.
Would I recommend this little gadget? Yes and no. Yes because it is fun and can be very handy for chronic journaling, scrapbooking addicts, and people who love printing labels for everything.
If you do not fall into anyone of these categories, then you run the risk of the letting the little printer collect dust in your drawer after the first few initial uses.
Depends on your hobbies and uses. The printer can be a holy-grail for some or an indifferent little device for others.
