Everyone loves finding great deals and getting the most for their money. Dollar Tree is a popular chain of dollar stores across the United States. The great catch about these stores is that everything is priced at a dollar. Many people have found products that have been absolute catches at the Dollar Tree. There has been an increasing trend across social media of people doing Dollar Tree hauls and creating amazing items such as home decor, art, and kitchen tools from crafty items found at the Dollar Tree. I am a Dollar Tree enthusiast myself and here are a couple of products that I have tried, tested, and approved. These products are good quality, get the job done, and are absolute steals for a dollar!
Pastel Highlighters - Dollar tree has an amazing assortment of stationery. As a huge stationery enthusiast myself, I have tried nearly every Doller Tree stationery product. Some of the products are low quality and are a miss, but some products are just as amazing as their branded counterparts. The pastel highlighters at Dollar Tree are excellent. They are pigmented, are of good quality, and are actually pastel in shade. Some expensive pastel highlighters such as the Zebra Mildliners aren't actually pastel when put down on paper. The Dollar Treet pastel highlighters are actually pastel when put down on paper. I have used only Dollar Tree's pastel highlighters through all my college years and they haven't failed me once! They do not bleed through the page or smudge the pen ink. I've always used them over my Pentel Energel X gel pens for years and have never had an issue. These highlighters are a steal!
Roller Ball Gel Pens - Dollar Tree's rollerball gel pens are thick, inky, and smooth. I have used these gel pens for years for outlining my drawings. I do not use them to write though, as the nib is thick and the ink is too heavy for regular paper. These pens bleed through for normal writing, but they are perfect for titling projects, sketch outlining, calligraphy, and various other art projects.
Fine Gel Pens - The Dollar Tree also has fine nib gel pens that are great for detailed artwork. I love using these pens for the smaller and finer details in my drawings and sketches. These pens are also great for making study note cards. Their fine nib allows you to cram in a lot of information on to small index cards.
Note Pads - I am a fan of to-do lists and making quick notes at my desk. So, I usually buy my note pads from Dollar Tree. They have an assortment of cute styles, colors, and sizes. There are magnet note pads and normal note pads as well. The paper quality is usually good and they get the job done. They also make my desk space look cute with their colorful designs. Note pad paper is usually used to jot down quick reminders and then they get tossed out. So a dollar for disposable paper is a great save!
Books - Can you believe that you can buy books for a dollar? At the dollar tree, they always have a varying assortment of books that is constantly updated. The books tend to include children's books, young adult novels, and adult novels. The books are usually from lesser-known or are indie books from smaller authors. Occasionally, you may spot some popular books from well-known authors as well. This gives you a great opportunity to try newer and smaller authors for a dollar! You may end up finding a new favorite underrated read or a new favorite underrated author. Some of my most favorite novels have accidentally come my way through the Dollar Tree. I recommend checking out the book rack! If you are not into standard fiction novels, they also have self-help books, cookbooks, fitness books, and activity books.
Folders - As you can tell by now the stationery aisle at the Dollar Tree is a usual hit. The plastic 2 pocket folders here are also a great deal! Instead of paying a few dollars for decorated folders, you can get them for one dollar at the Dollar Tree. They have a whole range of designs and colors. These folders are durable and get the job done like any other standard 2 pocket folder.
Hair Accessories - They have a wide assortment of hair accessories including hair bows, clips, pins, scrunchies, headbands, and even bandannas. The hair accessories are typically of decent quality and come in many colors and designs.
Cosmetic Supplies - The makeup itself is not of great quality and is not worth the purchase, but certain cosmetic supplies and products are great deals. These products include lip balms, chapsticks, cotton rounds, makeup sponges, small purse mirrors, makeup containers, nail cutters, nail files, nail polishes, and certain makeup brushes (such as the ones by Wet 'n' Wild). The best item in this category is the makeup sponges. You can get a whole bag of makeup sponge wedges that can be disposed of after one application. These sponges are perfect for foundation application and are a great alternative to the pricey beauty blenders. Occasionally, they do have some good makeup products that are from recognizable brand names such as wet 'n' wild and elf.
Organizers/Home Storage - This includes bins, organizers, hangers, baskets, and so on. Instead of buying storage and organization solutions at pricier stores, you can simply buy very similar products at the dollar tree. They have baskets and bins in various sizes, shapes, and styles. They even have specific storage products for stationery, art supplies, jewelry, and much more. With a bit of creativity and craftiness, one can use their bins and baskets to create custom organizers as well. There is a lot of flexibility here and many options to explore.
Mugs - the dollar tee often has a great assortment of mugs. New styles of mugs are usually added every few weeks. I have scored mugs here that look like they are from premium brands. Some of the mugs we have at home and have been using for years are originally from the dollar tree! You literally cannot tell the difference. The mugs are usually very good quality. They don't shatter or chip easily. The designs on them have held up even though we toss them into the dishwasher all the time! Grab yourself some mugs from the dollar tree, with so many cute designs, you will be in love with them.
Snacks - If you are buying overpriced boxes of candy and bags of chips from your local grocery store, stop and try the dollar tree. They have name-brand candies and chips for a dollar each! They even have special dietary snacks, such as sugar-free candies and low-calorie chips. They also have a whole assortment of drinks such as sodas, arizona tea cans, peace tea cans, coconut water cans, and so on. You can stock up on a whole ton of snacks for much cheaper here than the average grocery store.
Party Supplies - This includes gift bags, cards, gift wrap, helium balloons, candles, ribbons, party decorations, disposable party plates & cups, goodie bags, and much more. The dollar tree is my go-to place for helium balloons and cards for any occasion. They cover it all, from seasonal holidays to the staple celebrations such as birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, and so forth. I do not even bother shopping at any other store for gift bags, cards, and balloons. The dollar tree has a wide assortment of good quality products in multiple styles. This helps you save lots of money on the presentation of things, which then helps you save money for the actual gift or party you intend to give someone.
Cleaning Sprays - The dollar tree cleaning supplies are surprisingly good. Their cleaning sprays such as the multisurface cleaner and glass cleaner work very well. They also have off-brand swiffer wipes that come 10 in a pack. They fit my swiffer mop perfectly and get the job done. We all know how quickly swiffer products can get pricey. So the scrub buddies mop wipes are perfect! They also have sponges, brooms, scrapers, dusters, rag cloths, latex gloves, and so on. The cleaning supplies are cheap, quick, and get the job done.
Pet Supplies - This is a fairly new addition to dollar tree's range of products. But like their other products, they have done well in this category too. The Dollar Tree carries pet toys, pet bowls, and even pet food from branded companies such as 9 Lives. I get a lot of stuff for my kittens from here as well. The pet bowls are durable and useful. The pet snacks and foods are also decent. They carry the brand 9 Lives that makes dry cat food and wet mashed cat food as well. This brand is often at other stores for a higher price. At the dollar tree, it's a dollar per can of cat food. The cans themselves are large with lots of cat food in them. One can of the 9 Lives cat food lasts up to 3 meals for my kittens. They also carry a whole variety of flavors like chicken, beef, and tuna.
There are plenty more products that are absolute steals at the Dollar Tree. Clearly, this store is one of my favorites, and rightly so! These are just some of the more common and popular items.
