》 Full Coverage Makeup: We all have flaws and blemishes and a good foundation can go a long way. But nowadays, people are applying heaps of that goop to their faces, along with concealer and powder, even folks who do not have any blemishes. Yes, the result of a matte and supple face looks great on camera, but it looks atrocious in person. The result looks cakey and crispy on the skin in real life. It gives the skin a textured look as the heavy coverage product clogs the pores, accentuates every bump and line, and even sits between wrinkles and laugh lines.

》Thick Over Drawn Brows: A nice brow shape can balance out a face and create structure. But the trend now is to over draw the brows and fill them in with heavy pigmentation. Again, it may look on fleek on camera, but in real life it looks like permanent marker was used to draw two inverted Nike checkmarks. It does not look realistic, and draws the eye's attention all towards the brows and takes away from the face as a whole. It also makes your brow bone look large and disproportionate.

》Excessive Highlight: Highlighter really helps skin glow and accentuates the edges and high points on one's face. It can easily create a toned look for one's face through mere trick of the light, but over doing the highlighter does the opposite. Too much highlighter causes cakiness again and accentuates the bumps on the skin. Too much highlight does not trick the eye to believe the "glow", instead it is distracting and causes it to seem as if the cheek was smeared with glitter. It can also through a face's structure off balance, by making the light improperly luminate the skin.

》Slick Back Hairstyles: Before, extremely slicked back hairstyles were used in haute couture. Not everything on the runway looks good in real life. Only a handful with symmetrical faces and oval shaped faces can rock the look. Many others can not rock the look. A slicked hairstyle makes a face look wider or longer than it may be. There is no hair to frame the face and create a natural face shape. Slicked back hair is also not the most healthy style for hair. The constant brushing back and gelling down, can really hurt the edges.
》Extremely Long Nails: Nails are like a liposuction for the fingers, they give an instant slimming effect to the fingers. But ridiculously long acrylic nails are not cute and are impractical. They tend to look obnoxious and the amount of germs that get trapped in them must be insane. The longer acrylics also tend to curve inwards the longer they get, giving a very hag like appearance.
》Oversized OR Too Tight: Oversized clothing can trick the eye to make one look more petite, but too oversized causes a loss of shape and an overall baglike appearance. It can even make you look wider and chunkier than you may be. So keep the oversize to appropriately larger, not extra large infinite. Tight and short clothing may look good on some, but it is not flattering on everyone. Sometimes it can accentuate unsightly bulges and curves that can throw off a figure's leanness and
slimness.
》Ridiculously Tall Heels: A good pair of heels can go a long way and accentuate the leg. But extremely tall heels are not only impractical, they don't give the smooth elongating that normal heels do to calves. They can be obnoxious and take away from the elegance of a style. Your better off sticking to heels that do wonders for your legs.
》Corset Belts Over Tops: Corset belts are cute and enhance ones figure and waistline. Corsets tend to look good on dresses rather than tops. Nowadays, folks are wearing corsets on top of regular tees or casual tops and it looks hideous. It does not look stylish, rather distracting and cuts up the aesthetic of the outfit otherwise. Keep corsets to the dresses people.
》Clear Shoes: 2018 has had its run if transparent clothing and shoes. But shoes are by the far the worst of the clear see through trend. They do not look cohesive in many outfits and look like cling wrap with heels. Street fashion tends to favor them a lot, but in everyday life they are impractical. Also not worth the money. I mean, who pays for clear plastic with heels on the bottom? People in
do.
These were the 10 things you must ditch in 2018. Ofcourse the list can go on and on. While these are solely opinions, it is valid that a lot of tragic fashion looks of the year ensued from these items. Keep your style you and unique, make sure it fits well, and you can always experiment. But remember, just because you saw it on Instagram does not mean it will be stunning in person.
