My Top Kpop Groups For 2017

Heyylloo Blogger World! I have comeback today for a post about Kpop. It has been a long while since I have one of those. Last year I had done a post about underrated Kpop groups. Today, I will talk about my favorite groups this year. Before I begin, MONSTA X FINALLY HAD THEIR FIRST WIN!!! 11/14/2017. Ok, I had to let that out. I will talk about Monsta X in a bit, their on the list as well. These past few years in Kpop have been a ride. I have seen the best of the best bands collapse, and the most useless bands rise to the top. But without hesitation, here is my list of bands you should totally check out!

1) Monsta X - You saw this coming. Monsta X is a boy group from Starship entertainment. They debuted in 2015, and have now in 2017, received their first award. They were slept on for so long, seriously. This group has amazing albums. I stress that, because I am not really a "check out all the albums" kinda gal. But, I did for Monsta X. They have a hip hop vibe with a twist. They also use their music videos to tell stories and have complex themes in their albums. Its artistry 100%. They also have the nicest stage costumes. Just saying. Eye candy folks.

2)  NCT 127 - is the main subunit involved in SM entertainment's NCT project. They have a retro, old school hip hop style, with a heavy bass tonality. Their album songs tend to be mellifluous and edm style. They experiment alot and keep things fresh with a powerful message and bizarre but artistic music videos. Their music video for "Limitless" was even shot in a low quality style to further their throwback "aesthetic." They have meaningless songs and meaningful ones as well, usually narrating a story. The band itself has upbeat and humorous personas. They have a refreshing style in a world of kpop where everything tends to pastel doused and cutesy.

3) Seventeen - is a softer group than the two mentioned above, but this group has produced jams! The members in this group have a large say over the composition, lyrics, and choreos of their work. They have a more authentic "artist" feel. They have softer pop songs with a funky vibe Their work is usually colorful abut with a melancholic touch. They have catchy songs and very fun personalities. They are definite option for those who aren't into the hip hop sound and like bubbly pop. Their album songs are also earworms and they tend to have different concepts each time.

4) Vixx - is personally one of my first groups on my encounter with Kpop years ago, and they are still special. They are a group that ventured onto a concept style that many bands hadn't done before. Vixx is a dark band, with fantasy themes. Their aesthetic is bloody and dark, full of vampiric looking styles, voodoo dolls, chains, roses, and crisp tuxedos with chokers. They are the perfect band for a lover of all thing horror or more gothic themed styles. Their songs usually tell fantasy style stories. Their music videos are like watching a movie, they are gorgeous! If you never grew out of the mid 2000s obsession with angst, edginess, and gore, this band is for you!

That is my list for now! Thanks for reading.
