Heyylloo Blogger World! Summer is near, but with summer comes the foreboding fear of the next school year. Yet, every year we try to better ourselves in our study and sometimes we fail, sometimes we succeed. Since this fall I will be attending my Freshman Year in College, I wanted to make this post to share with you, How can you design your desk space to emulate the Minimalistic aesthetic. Minimalism is very gorgeous and neat aesthetic and style, but I feel it compliments desk or work spaces the best. So here is how you can design your work space to look neat, soothing, and essentially motivating.
Next, start by drafting a theme. Your want to stick to mostly monochrome colors like black, whites, and grays. Then pick an accent color that will be your pop of color. It can be purple, pink, blue, or green. Start off by placing your computer or laptop in the middle, everything else will surround it.
Acquire a cute pencil holder or cup and place all your writing utensils in it and place that in one corner.
You can string fairy lights on to your desk or an artificial vine of flowers for some color and to give the desk a border. The desk in an essence stays that simple, to supplement the neat look. Most of the decoration will go on the wall the desk is against. Stick with angular and rectangular shaped decor for the wall above the desk.
Start by placing a neat calendar in the middle of the wall, then you will decorate around it. Print out motivational quotes, you can frame them if you like, with frames from the dollar store. Place the frames, photos, or quotes in neat adjacency around the calendar and all over that wall space above the desk. You can string thin fairy lights here if you like, or you can string Polaroids and hang them up here. Another creative idea is to add some dream catchers or small crafty decor. Stick with the accent color you have chosen. Do not clutter up the wall and hang way to many things on it.
The point of this aesthetic is that, simple is more. You can also hang flowers on the walls or magazine cutouts. Treat the wall as a collage and decorate it simply as your prefer is your theme. Do not clutter or overdo anything. You can even add a bulletin board or wipe off reminder board on the wall. It keeps you organized if you utilize it efficiently. Also make sure that desk is in an area of good lighting. Since your base colors are monochrome, your accent colors should be soft tones, instead of very bright colors. Your work space has to look serene and calm.

Alot of this decoration comes from buying cute stationary items, that can easily be found at dollar stores. You can truly revamp a drabby desk, and give your room life with a bit of color scheming and neatness. It is an expression of you and how well you can keep organized. I'd advise not to put too many books on the desk, it makes the space look constricted. Other than that, keep it neat, and actually use it. Don't just do it to make your room pretty. Study!!! Put your all in and always do your best! Anyway that is it for today, see you all in the next post!
