Going To College Soon??!!

Hello everyone! I know I'm getting on this blog after a while, mainly because there wasn't much going on to write about. But now... yes there is more going on. Thankyou to everyone who has been reading these posts thus far. I wanted to begin a new tab on my blog, look above. Its labeled "Diary." I think a concept of an online diary chronicling crazy events and journeys in my life might be interesting. So this is officially the first post for that tab!

So starting this fall, I will be going to college. And I just know it. I can feel it in my gut, that some crazy stuff is about to go down. Everything has been hectic ever since I moved. I moved from New York where I pretty much lived and grew up my whole life to Georgia. It has been a major transition to move from the great city into a suburban area. The area I reside in now is within the Metro Atlanta region, so it takes one highway trip to get into Atlanta. My suburb is not that suburban, its kind of a mix of suburbs and city. Its a so so decent place. My whole family moved down here, So pretty much as a senior in High School I had to choose a college in this vicinity.

It was obviously a huge change in environment and friends and social life, so for college I chose to go to a city college. It is more familiar, more like what I am used to and more diverse. So I was accepted into Georgia State University. Its a decent college in downtown Atlanta, but the whole city-esque feel that surrounds it is very much like home, so I jumped on the opportunity. I could've chosen other colleges, but commute would be an issue, as I am not a fan or dorming for undergrad. Today was my first trip to see the college. Its an open campus and the buildings are sprawled over the city, it was certainly interesting. I had to go to the admissions office to verify some documents for my fall semester, and the first journey was enthralling.

I noticed immediately that downtown Atlanta had a rundown kind of tumblr grunge type feel you can say. There were tons of arbitrary eateries and cafes, along with huge streets painted with the University's symbol, the buildings were tall and glass like, just like New York. It wasn't as fancy or bustling, but had the same aged and rundown feel like an old city. Some parts of it were very modern though. I passed by the Emory Medical School and that school was a literal towering skyscraper. There were also many cool buses running in the city, like the Marta and the Grta Xpress. I visited the admissions office of the school and transportation. I am still confused on the whole transportation system, being new here, but everything else ran smoothly.

On May 30, I have to attend the New Student Orientation, and I'm excited and anxious for that, since we register for classes then. The major track I currently have Neuroscience, and I honestly don't know what to expect this coming fall. The jittery feeling of nervousness and enticement is real. I'm hoping deeply things don't mess up and I can ease into my new situation. Right now I am being a hopeful. But at the same time I am enticed to see what Atlanta has in store for me.

As we drove up to Atlanta I could see this exact view in a haze on the horizon and just then I began to contemplate life and await the upcoming great expectations.

Thankyou For Reading
